Ph.D. Candidate, Kelley School of Business, Indiana University Bloomington
Hello! I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Operations and Decision Technologies department at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University Bloomington, advised by Jonathan Helm and Jorge Mejia.
In my research, I employ empirical and analytical methodologies to study operations and supply chain management problems with public policy and social impact.
My dissertation focuses on the opioid crisis, a major public health problem that has affected millions of people in North America. I study how the structural characteristics and relational dynamics within the pharmaceutical supply chain facilitated the diversion of prescription opioid drugs into illicit markets. My goal is to uncover gaps in the current regulations, inform more effective monitoring policies, and ultimately help mitigate the devastating societal impact of the opioid crisis.
Before my Ph.D., I received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from the University of Tehran and worked as a data analyst at an e-commerce company.
